Made from steel sheets and coated with stone granules, this approach to metal roofing has significant design versatility.

The stone coating aspect enables texturing and vivid coloring. Each steel sheet can be stamped to look like anything from asphalt shingles to clay tiles to wood shakes.

4, frost resistance: at -20℃ environment for 1 hour and then to room temperature repeated 20 times, the color of the sand has no change

5, water resistance: boil in boiling water for 8 hours and then dry, the color of the sand has no change

A: No, stone coated steel tiles are lighter than clay tiles. The weight of the stone coated steel tile is 5.96 kg / sq.mt while a conventional concrete tile will be about 40.8kg/ sq.mt.

The reduced weight per square meter consecutively translates into a drastic reduction of the quantity of roof structure materials needed to support the stone coated tiles. The support structure can either be light gauge steel or timber.
